How To Sell More Books With Geniuslink: Make More Money Self-Publishing

I was an IDIOT when I first started promoting our Amazon KDP self-published book on Facebook, I just copied and pasted the website’s link.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!

To promote it to my friends in other countries, I went to their Amazon websites and copied and pasted it again.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!

Little did I know I was losing the chance to get more customers worldwide to find my book and make extra commissions from promoting my book (anywhere from 1-10% of their total checkout cart!!).

That was until a super helpful Aussie lady commented on my posts, telling me to use Amazon Affiliate links with a Geniuslink.

I had no idea what either was, so I hectically googled and watched a bunch of Youtube videos to try and get it set up so I wasn’t missing out on sales.

Thus, why I am here now to teach you how NOT to make my mistake.

So, first things first, you need to make yourself an Amazon Associates account in each country where you think you will sell your book or product (I’ve written a post about that here).

Next, jump over to geniuslink.com and click Join. You can signup for 14 days for free, and after that, it is $5/month for the first 2000 clicks, then they charge an extra $2/1000 clicks.

You can always count this cost towards your Tax return for Business expenses.

Next, click on the LINKS tab, where you can copy and paste in your Amazon product link under the New section.

You can then choose how you want the URL to look and what type of Link you want to use. This post focuses on selling just one Amazon product, so select “Simple Link” and then Save.

Once you’ve done that, click over to the AFFILIATE tab up above and you will see two options, Affiliate Aggregators and Your affiliate programs– it’s under this one you want to click on “Add a Program.”

A popup screen will appear where you can select your Amazon Associates account for each country. You will need to add each country INDIVIDUALLY that you have signed up for and your Tracking ID from each.

Geniuslink will automatically add your affiliate code to all Links that you have made! WOOOO! Easy Peasy!

So whenever you add in a new product link, ALL country’s affiliate codes will be linked to it. MUCH EASIER than copying and pasting each link every time.

Once you start to promote your product using the Geniuslink, you can check back in on the HOME tab to see how it performs.

It will give you statistics for how many people have clicked on it, what countries they are from, what platform they clicked on it (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

This is great for down the track when you want to target a more specific audience or help you find out where you need to be promoting your book more (especially if using Facebook Ads targeting feature).

Since using Geniuslink, my link has redirected my book to be purchased in 106 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, more than I could ever have found by myself just promoting my one US Amazon link!!

Hands down this was the best piece of advice a random person on the internet gave me.
